Conferences and training
As part of its remit to educate both public and sector, Lilith R&D regularly runs conferences and training sessions and participates in talks and seminars.
Supporting the sector
Part of Lilith’s remit is to provide support to organisations within the violence against women sector. We do this by organising conferences and seminars where professionals can get together and discuss best practice, new developments, legislation and how best to support women who have experienced violence.
In the past, these conferences have included:
- An Introduction to Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in 2007 – for healthcare professionals, police and organisations who may end up working with women who have experienced FGM;
- Women and Homelessness: Seminar Training Day in 2006 –informing the mixed hostel sector of best practice for supporting women.
Educating the public
We also organise awareness-raising conferences and events for members of the public, to generate debate and encourage people to rethink their stereotypes surrounding gender.
Students
Lilith is also available to work with student groups to raise awareness of sexual and gender-based violence and discrimination. To enquire about the possibility of a training session or workshop, email post@eaveshousing.co.uk
